    In 2022, we began an exciting journey with a new freeze dryer. But after investing time and effort into preserving food, we realized one thing: if your packaging fails, all your hard work is wasted. We bought mylar bags from many different brands - but too many were thinner than advertised - compromising barrier performance. So we decided to create exactly the bags we wanted for our own family. We love them and we hope you will too.

  • We recommend buying them separately to ensure freshness, sufficient quality and to be able to select the correct CC size for your specific storage use case (see FAQ below on oxygen absorber CC sizing).

  • Stickers don't stick well to mylar for extended periods of time - especially if you vacuum seal your bags. It's better to directly label the bags with a permanent marker. Unless you love the excitement of mystery/surprise meals later...

  • Depends on food density, anticipated storage time, and whether you vacuum seal. Reference range for 1 quart sized bags: 200-400cc

  • FoodVault mylar bags are designed and quality-tested in the USA, and responsibly manufactured in China.
